About Crosscheck
Is Crosscheck part of the FAA?
No. Crosscheck is not affiliated with or endorsed by the FAA. It reports what the FAA has published, with the source and the date.
Will it tell me whether I'll pass my medical?
No. Crosscheck never predicts whether a certificate will be issued. It shows what the FAA has published and works out your dates from the FAA's rules. Your examiner and the FAA make the decisions.
Does it replace my examiner (AME)?
No. Your examiner (Aviation Medical Examiner, or AME) does your exam. Your examiner and the FAA decide on your certificate.
Crosscheck helps you walk in with your dates, your lists and your documents together. Get ready for my exam lists what to bring on the day, from the FAA's own page.
Is it medical or legal advice?
No. Crosscheck reports what the FAA has published. It is not medical or legal advice, and it doesn't tell you what to do about your health or your certificate.
What does it cost?
There is a Free plan for as long as you like, and two paid plans, Plus and Pro, by the month or the year. The Pricing page has the prices and what each plan includes.
You pay on Stripe's own page. Crosscheck never receives your full card number.
How do I cancel my plan?
Open Manage my plan and choose Cancel plan. Your plan runs to the end of the period you paid for and doesn't renew. Refunds are in the Terms of Use.
Who is it for?
Pilots with an FAA medical certificate: student, private, commercial and airline pilots, with a first, second or third class medical.
Answer four questions from your certificate and Crosscheck works out when each class ends. Add my medical details.
The FAA information
Where does the FAA information come from?
From what the FAA publishes: the Guide for Aviation Medical Examiners and its medication pages, the FAA's own pages about the medical exam and MedXPress, and the rules for how long a medical certificate lasts (14 CFR 61.23).
Each answer names the document it comes from. More on the FAA guidance page.
How current is it?
Crosscheck checks every FAA document it quotes against the FAA's current copy each week, and again on the days the FAA posts its monthly updates to the Guide for Aviation Medical Examiners. When the FAA changes a document, the answers that rest on it are marked until they have been checked again. The last check was on .
Each answer shows the date its FAA source was last checked.
Does it tell me what to put on MedXPress?
It doesn't decide what you report. Crosscheck assumes you report everything. MedXPress asks for every visit to a health professional in the last 3 years (Item 19) and every medication (Item 17), and Crosscheck keeps both lists ready to copy.
My doctor visits and My medications show each entry in the form's own boxes, so you can copy them in one at a time.
My MedXPress Profile keeps your own answers for the rest of MedXPress, Item 18 included. Every answer starts blank, and Crosscheck never chooses one for you.
Crosscheck Fill-in, an optional add-on for your web browser, types the answers you saved into your own MedXPress application. How Crosscheck Fill-in works.
Your account and signing in
Do I need an account?
Yes, for your dashboard and your records. An account is an email address and a password, and on Plus and Pro a phone for the sign-in code.
Sign in to open your dashboard and your own record pages: My medical details, My doctor visits, My medications, My documents, My Reminders and Get ready for my exam.
Can I use Crosscheck without an account?
Some of it. Check a medication, Check a condition, Find an examiner and Help are open to everyone. Your dashboard and your records need an account.
How do I sign in?
Sign in with your email and password, or continue with Apple or Google. Your records open after you sign in. No extra setup.
On Plus and Pro, while records from a paid plan are still kept, or once you've added a phone, you also type a code we text you each time you sign in.
What if I forget my password?
Choose Forgot your password? on the sign-in page. We'll email you a reset link. Your records aren't affected.
What if I can't get the text?
Write to support@crosscheckmed.com from the email address on your account.
We'll check it's you, then wait a day before changing anything. We'll email you when the wait starts, and if it wasn't you, one click stops it. The last step is a reset link sent to that email address, so you'll need access to it.
When am I signed out?
Crosscheck signs you out after 15 minutes of inactivity. Sign in again the way you usually do, with the code we text you if your account uses one.
Your records and privacy
What is My records?
The part of Crosscheck that holds your own information: your medical details, your dates, your doctor visits, your medications, your documents and your exam prep.
It's encrypted and available on any device you sign in on. It needs a Crosscheck account.
Where are my records kept?
Your records are stored encrypted on Crosscheck's systems and become available after you sign in. Signing out removes access from that browser.
Can Crosscheck see my records?
Your records are encrypted, and Crosscheck does not provide staff with a normal tool for viewing them. Because Crosscheck operates the service, we do not claim that technical access is impossible.
The Security page explains how your records are protected.
What does an account keep?
Your email address, your sign-in details, your mobile number if you add one, your plan, which of our documents you accepted with the words you ticked and when, and dates such as when a deletion is due.
For each reminder you set, it keeps when to send it, the date it is about, your reminder time zone and whether it was delivered. Your automatic medical reminder also keeps your medical class. It keeps whether your phone can get reminder texts and, if you turn them on, a record that you agreed, kept for four years after they end.
And your records, encrypted: your medical details, visits, medications and documents.
When you delete your account, a few short records stay for a set time, with nothing from your records in them. Proof that you accepted our documents is kept for 5 years as a one-way fingerprint of your email address, with the version, the words you ticked and the time. Section 15 of the Privacy Policy lists them all.
What happens to my records if my plan ends?
When a paid plan ends for good, the records in its areas are kept read-only for 12 months, with emails 60, 30 and 7 days before; then they are deleted.
Until then you can open, export and delete them, and if you start a plan again before that date, nothing is deleted. Your medical details and automatic reminder stay. Section 13.3 of the Terms of Use has the details.
Do you sell my data or show ads?
We never sell it, share it with advertisers or show you ads.
Crosscheck loads no ads, no ad pixels and no fonts from other sites. The public pages count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics; sign-in, your account and your records don't use it.
What happens if I clear my browser?
You lose nothing. Clearing it signs you out. Your records are stored on Crosscheck's systems, so sign in again and they're there.
To keep a copy of your own, choose Export my data in Settings and my data. Store the file somewhere safe.
How do I delete everything?
Your records: open Settings and my data and choose Delete my records. It deletes them from Crosscheck's systems, with 30 days to change your mind.
Your account: open Account & privacy and choose Delete my account. You'll be asked for your password again. Your account and My records are deleted right away. Backup copies are deleted within 90 days. A few short records stay for a set time, with nothing from your records in them, such as proof that you accepted our documents or agreed to reminder texts. Section 15 of the Privacy Policy says how long. Our messaging provider keeps its own record of any texts it sent you.
Export a copy first if you want to keep one.
Using Crosscheck
Does it work on my phone?
Yes, in your phone's web browser.
Your records are the same on every device you sign in on.
Do I need to install anything?
No. Crosscheck runs in your web browser, on a computer, tablet or phone. An optional extension, Crosscheck Fill-in, can type your MedXPress answers into your own MedXPress application in Chrome.
What can support do?
A few things, and none of them opens your records.
Support can send a password-reset email to your account's own address, and — if you have lost your phone and cannot get your code — start a recovery, which waits a day, emails you a link that stops it, and then removes your phone and sends you a reset link. If you ask, support can also turn off your reminder texts. And if your records need to be secured again, for example after a security problem, support can mark your account so they are re-secured the next time you sign in. When you ask by email, support can also record that you withdrew your health-data consent, or delete records that are waiting to be deleted before the 30 days are up. Each of these is logged.
To reach support, email support@crosscheckmed.com. Write from the email address on your account, so they can check it's you.
Nobody from Crosscheck will ever ask for your password or for a code we texted you, or read a code out to you.
How do I contact Crosscheck?
The quickest way is the Contact page: write your message there and it reaches support as an email, with your address to reply to.
Or by email, at one of three addresses:
