Compare FAA documents: Routine and travel vaccinesWhat each of the two FAA documents says, in plain wordsOpen

It says FDA approved vaccines are acceptable, and that for an FDA-approved vaccine not listed on its table, contact AMCD/RFS for further guidance. If delayed symptoms such as headache, fatigue, myalgia or chills appear, 14 CFR 61.53 applies: no flying and no safety-related duties until symptom-free. The table lists the chikungunya vaccine Vimkunya (recombinant), and its footnote says Ixchiq (live-attenuated) is no longer FDA approved.

The FAA's MedGuide names the BCG, chikungunya (Vimkunya), diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (Adacel, Boostrix, Daptacel), hepatitis A (Havrix, Vaqta), hepatitis B (Engerix-B, Recombivax HB), influenza, MMR (M-M-R II, Priorix), MMRV (ProQuad), meningococcal (Menactra, MenQuadfi, Menveo), pneumonia (Prevnar 13, Pneumovax 23), typhoid (Typhim Vi, Vivotif) and yellow fever (Stamaril, YF-VAX) vaccines as allowed, for immunization, with no wait after the first dose, after later doses or after the final dose, used as prescribed. The MedGuide defines allowed as acceptable for use while performing flight or safety-related duties, provided the condition is stable/aeromedically acceptable and no adverse side effects are present.
